This project was to transform the great, historical New York Public Library – Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, located on Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street – into a more friendly and welcoming research center toward local teenagers and young adults.
A series of three posters are created based on the library theory: Inspiration, Exploration, Discovery.
They also represent the research experience in the NYPL; come to the library and your ideas will
grow into different directions like vines. Small texts on the posters indicate fun facts about the NYPL.
A promotional booklet is also created to promote the library. It can be unfolded to a 13”x19” poster with the library information on the inside. Along the edge of the poster are three tear-off bookmarks. Readers can use these bookmarks to indicate whether the spot they mark inspires them, is worth more exploration, or is a discovery.
